Message from Pastor - March 26, 2020
My dear OLPH parishioners,
I am invoking the intercessory prayers of our Mother, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, as I greet you today.  I pray that this MESSAGE finds you and your family in good health and in the safety of your homes and/or in your workplaces.
As your pastor, I would like to assure you that our Parish continues to live in hope, even stronger in our faith and more inspired to spread the message of love amidst the crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.  Fr. Jong and myself have been offering our daily prayers, the daily Holy Mass and Sunday Holy Mass, in private.  We do all these in compliance with the Memo of Bishop Larry Silva, dated 16 March 2020, and always in line with the CDC guidelines and the directives from our national and local government authorities as we receive them in the news.
With the “stay home, work at home” in place, starting last Wednesday for the whole State, we have made radical adjustments on how to serve you.  As we “work at home,” you may still call the office, leave a message in the voice mail and one of us will reply to you accordingly.  When you call for emergency requiring anointing of the sick, leave a message and email:  or you can also email me directly: or you can also email our parochial vicar, Fr. Jong Atinaja:  In addition, we open daily the drop box by the parish office, which is a convenient way for you to drop your letters and Mass intentions.
With the cancellation of our public Masses, I have personally seen the drastic effect in our offertory collection, which is the lifeblood to operate the parish.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support through the years. In posting this MESSAGE, I am also making an APPEAL for your continued support so that we can continue our parish operations and the mission of evangelization.
I know that all of us are affected with this pandemic that is happening around the world.  So, I am making this appeal at least to those of you who can and have the resources to share to the parish and the school in the spirit of stewardship.  We have already parishioners who started mailing their offerings.  If you have not done it yet, kindly consider enrolling to our on-line giving,   To enroll, search Faith Direct, and look for our parish ID: HI728.
“I give thanks to my God at every remembrance of you, praying always with joy in my every prayer for all of you because of your partnership for the gospel from the first day until now” (Philippians 1:3-5).  Again, thank you and God bless us all.
Sincerely yours in the Lord,
Rev. Edmundo N. Barut, Jr.
