Bishop Larry Silva announces the "Resumption of Sunday Mass Obligation":

Effective Easter Sunday, April 4 (or as of the Easter Vigil, April 3), I am ending the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass, which has been in effect since mid-March, 2020. However, anyone who is sick, may have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, or who has a health condition that would endanger themselves or others by being present in church, continues to be dispensed.

Vaccine
"As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, this new year brings some hope in controlling the virus through vaccines. The State of Hawaii vaccination plan is being implemented at this time. You may have some moral or ethical concerns regarding the potential contents (compromised cell lines/fetal cells) of these vaccines in relation to our Catholic teaching and faith."  Click on the link below to read the Bishop's letter in its entirety.

Master Plan Update - April 7, 2019

A bit of good news as DPP responds positively to our extension request for adding parking stalls after school lets out for the summer, landscape screening until post-construction, and frontage improvements.  Specifically, we must:
• Construct interim improvements and defer frontage improvements to Phase 2 or 3 of the Project
• Construct and stripe 108 stalls by August 2019 Install landscape screening hedge at end of Phase 1
The infiltration/percolation test to address storm water runoff was conducted 3/29 & 3/30.  It is still too early to know the results of test and how it might impact our current plans.
We have received the initial basis of design report from the acoustical engineer which essentially indicates that in order to meet our budget placeholder the system must focus on audio, basic video capability, and acoustics.  Although the infrastructure for cameras, video streaming across facilities, and video production capabilities can be installed during the current construction full implementation would be deferred into the future.  The new system will still far exceed our current capabilities.
In early April another round of meetings to discuss lighting, finishes and review liturgical furnishings concepts is planned.  Barring any other significant delays we would expect to complete Design Development during the month of May.
