Resumption of Sunday Mass Obligation
Bishop Larry Silva announces the "Resumption of Sunday Mass Obligation":
Effective Easter Sunday, April 4 (or as of the Easter Vigil, April 3), I am ending the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass, which has been in effect since mid-March, 2020. However, anyone who is sick, may have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, or who has a health condition that would endanger themselves or others by being present in church, continues to be dispensed.

Bishop's Letter on COVID-19 Vaccines
COVID-19
Vaccine
"As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, this new year brings some hope in controlling the virus through vaccines. The State of Hawaii vaccination plan is being implemented at this time. You may have some moral or ethical concerns regarding the potential contents (compromised cell lines/fetal cells) of these vaccines in relation to our Catholic teaching and faith." Master Plan & Parish Update - December 20, 2015 Bulletin
Over the past few weeks we have met with several commercial real estate brokers to discuss the sale of the Ma Ke Kula property. These discussions will assist us in deciding the best approach to marketing the property, and allow us to decide who should represent the Parish in the transaction. During this process historical transaction records such as property surveys, appraisals, environmental surveys, site development drawings, property tax records, etc. are being researched to aid us in determining current value and any unforeseen issues. We expect that a broker will be selected shortly and the active sale of the property will commence in January.
Faith Direct has been selected to assist OLPH in offering a solution that allows you to support our church using electronic funds transfer from either a bank account or credit/debit card just as you may do now with your mortgage payment, cable bill or other expenses. It’s simple, safe and convenient. Over the coming weeks we will announce how you can begin supporting our church electronically. Initially, we will enroll parishioners who are interested in making their weekly offertory online. These same options will be available in fulfilling your capital campaign pledges in the future.
Who is Faith Direct? Faith Direct is an online e-giving service provider serving more than 600 parishes nationwide, and they have been doing this for more than 10 years. You can enroll online or by mail, so you can give to our church in a way that works best for you. Whether you’re out of town, unable to attend church due to weather, illness or a family emergency, your gifts will always be received. Your information is protected, every transaction is secure and your donations are automatically transferred to OLPH’s account.
We have finalized an agreement with CCS to assist us in conducting a capital campaign commencing in January. Although the active phase of the campaign will run through May pledge redemption will occur over the next 5+ years. Deacon Ron & Fr. Ed are currently recruiting volunteers to fill various roles during the campaign. Organization of the campaign and training for volunteers and church leadership will begin in January.
