Bishop Larry Silva announces the "Resumption of Sunday Mass Obligation":
Effective Easter Sunday, April 4 (or as of the Easter Vigil, April 3), I am ending the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass, which has been in effect since mid-March, 2020. However, anyone who is sick, may have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, or who has a health condition that would endanger themselves or others by being present in church, continues to be dispensed.

"As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, this new year brings some hope in controlling the virus through vaccines. The State of Hawaii vaccination plan is being implemented at this time. You may have some moral or ethical concerns regarding the potential contents (compromised cell lines/fetal cells) of these vaccines in relation to our Catholic teaching and faith."  Click on the link below to read the Bishop's letter in its entirety.

Ma Ke Kula Update - September 6, 2015 Bulletin

The Master Plan document has been finalized and approved by the Diocese.

Although it has been a while since our last update, behind the scenes there has been significant activity in regard to the Master Plan & Ma Ke Kula.  Since our last update we have vetted and selected Community Counselling Service Co., LLC (“CCS”) to assist us with our capital campaign.  CCS is rated as one of the most experienced and successful Catholic parish fundraising firms since their founding in 1947.  CCS has begun the process of ascertaining our parishioner’s willingness and capability to support the execution of our Master Plan, and you will be asked to participate in a survey during all masses the weekend of September 12th and 13th.  Although no specific commitment will be required at this time, you will be asked questions regarding your opinion of the Master Plan and to give an indication of how you might help.  The actual campaign is tentatively scheduled to begin early in the new year.
The Parish currently has no means of accepting donations other than cash or check.  Whether it is a capital campaign or the weekly offertory we would like to be able to offer the option of making your donations securely through electronic transactions that would permit the use of automatic withdrawals from checking, savings, and credit/debit card accounts.  No more check-writing or stuffing envelopes, and you would have the ability to earn rewards on your credit cards! We are currently in the process of performing due diligence on service providers to determine the one that provides the best service for the Parish and you.
Work is ongoing to determine the best approach to the sale of Ma Ke Kula; bulk sale versus individual lots.  Each comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages along with liability issues we still need to work through.  We have met with the Diocese and their attorney for advice on how to proceed.  Should we elect a bulk sale a short list of commercial brokers to assist us has been compiled.
The process is tedious and time-consuming, but we slowly move ahead toward our objective.   We ask for your support and most of all, your prayers.
