Ma Ke Kula Update - March 30, 2014 Bulletin

The committee has finalized negotiations with Saavedra Gehlhausen and the contract is currently going through the approval process required by the Diocese.  The Master Planning process is tentatively scheduled to kick-off the weekend of April 26th & 27th during the weekend’s masses where Dan Saavedra and Guy Gehlhausen will disclose more details regarding the process that will be followed.
After determining the space requirements for the Master Plan using the information gathered from the demographic survey and input from church and school leadership, administrators, ministry members, and parishioners work will begin on determining various options for the use of church properties.  Both the options and comparative cost data will be reviewed along with any infrastructure or planning & permitting issues uncovered in the review of existing structures/facilities to determine the best option for us to pursue.  At a later time in the planning process Saavedra Gehlhausen will present us with various phasing options through 2035.
In June several open houses that are open to all will be scheduled.  These open houses called design charrettes will be used to discuss the various options available to us and solicit input from those in attendance which along with all other data collected to that point will guide Dan and Guy in putting together conceptual designs for the Master Plan.  These concepts could incorporate renovation or new construction, but aimed at providing a comprehensive plan that reflects the wishes and desires of the Parish.  To see the complete MKK history, along with updates, visit the "About Us" section of our website @ www.olphewabeach.org
